Feeling fruity

So the Summer is here and we should all be feasting on fruit and not chocolate (lets just say my day isn't going to that way today.) We have been very lucky that the sun has had his hat on most of the last couple of months.

The fruits are at their brightest and juiciest, so all the graphics in the shops are feeling fruity. Not just the food stores... retail stores across the country are filled with cute little fruit prints and fruity inspired garments. These are a few of  my fave at the moment...

How cute is this little happy pineapple, all sunshine and smiles...
Tesco

Citrus fun with smiles all round at this little cute tee. Faces are all over the high street either on their own or as fun little characters... this little watercolour is perfect for holidays.
Zara

This little apple knit is simple and almost scandinavian, Boden are the queens of simple graphics in playful colours. Perfect for any little girl and everyone knows a apple a day is always good!
Boden

We can't leave the little boys out, so the apple has gone cool! So I guess you can say being healthy can be cool? It funny how often when companies often try and make fruit and veg look 'cool' it just looks ummm... not so cool at all. But the guys at Emile et Ida have nailed it perfectly... Simple but cool graphic, on a raw edge raglan tee.

I love this its fun, sexy and colourful...what more should the holidays be?

Tropical babywear

So before the Summer is finally over I thought I would share some of my recent babywear designs... A cute  little range based on a tropical jungle experience.  Fun animal prints mixed with bold florals and colour full embelishments. Based on playwear for 0-24months girlswear for the highstreet market. All designs are copyrighted to Elspeth Morris.

Mood board to convay the colours and fun characters in which the range is built on.

Layette newborn products, fun colours flow through the body packs with cute slogans 'butterfly kisses'... Cuddle jersey blanket and grow bags are light and airy and both have the full pink linings for     practicality. Twin pack hats and bib alow for mix and match across the main range product.

Party outfits take inspiration from mix and match print garments from inspirational shops in Seoul. Cotton dress and fine gauge knit cardies that wrap over with jersey trims which are soft against the skin.

Sun hat to protect the little ones from the sun and light jersey romper with bloomers creates a naive look with the combination of prints and colours.

Mummy and daughter graphic on the flamingo t-shirt pulls at the heart strings and two pack leggings are great for practicality. Soft loop back sweater is ideal for layering in the evenings and is embroidered  double thickness thread.

Chambray pinafore dress with longsleeve t-shirt is perfect for those cloudly days, completing the look with soft elasticated shoes.

Lovely blue based rainmac and wellies differs from the normal pinks and reds and is ideal for jumping in puddles!

Giraffe fun outtfit is complete with soft fleece zip hoodie with ears, long sleeve gathered tee with drop hem and soft chambray demin jeans with appliqued giraffe on the leg and heart pocket! This is the ideal outfit for a trip to playgroup.

Novelty dungarees, with contrast chambray knee patches ideal for crawling...

And not forgetting the cool kids with their mini lace ups. x

Autumn tan boots

So the Summer has come to an end and Autumn is setting in... I feel like I havn't really had a Summer this year, with working loopy hours and only seeing the summer through the window. Next year I will get to the beach more.

So it's that time of year again to start looking at winter boots, especially before they all sell out of the popular sizes.

Their are some great tan ankle boots out there this year...

These cute boots are from www.missguided.co.uk The ideal flat but pretty boots.

www.riverisland.com ... Fun boots for dressing up or down. Love the chunky buckles.

Woven cowboy boots. www.danielfootwear.com These would be fab with a pair of chunky wooly tights and a cute pinafore dress. Great boots for day or night.

I can't decide if I love or hate these boots, What do you think?

These boots have great shape and great colour, the leather looks so soft. I'm sure these boots would be so comfy! These boots are from www.misssixty.com

I'm looking forward to the weather getting colder and the winter clothes coming out...  chunky knits with wooly tights and cute pinafore dresses.
Cosy pubs and a few pints with good mates... Happy days!

Nancy and Donald...

This morning while driving back from sunny Wales to the midlands I was glued to radio 2... yes I maybe 27 but radio 2 in the mornings is my station of choice... So Chris was chatting away about 'Nancy and Donald' an American couple who have been dressing the same for 35 years!!

I know couples often unintentionally dress in similar colours or that they try and link up for formal events... but this is just taking it to another level!

I wonder who decides each day which outfit they will wear? Do you think they ever have a day off or just think sod it today i just want to laze about in joggers and cosy clothes?

Nancy started making them matching outfits after Donald wouldn't remove his jacket on a date even although the weather was really warm... so she thought if she made him a shirt... he wouldn't want to a a fend her... and that was the start of it.

35 years later Nancy's dress making skills are going strong and the fabrics she picks seam to be as bold and bright as ever...

I bet Nancy is really quick at wipping up shirts by now...

Even pj's...
... and the dog!

Not sure it's my thing but good on Nancy 35 years worth of outfits is a lot of sewing.

Nail art... Cornflower blue

So in the last two weeks my nails must have changed colour at least 4 times!... I know this is what happens to you when you are single... way to much time on your hands.

So I have had these patterned blue nails now for nearly 5 days and they havn't chipped or marked at all so I am pretty pleased...and no top or base coat... I know, I know... I should... but I don't own any so...

First I applied two coats of cornflower blue nail varnish... then I used the black nail art pen to draw the geometric patterns... this design just developed as I did the first finger... I didn't realise how much harder the right hand would be than the left.

Day 5... starting to chip...including four days swimming

The nail varnish... Gelly high shine/ Barry M
Nail varnish score ... 8/10
It applys smoothly and only needs two coats to create a solid smooth colour.
It also dried quickly and has warn very well.

 Nail art pens... Kelly Brook
Nail Pens Score... 7/10

This is the first time I have used nail pens, so partly this was me getting used to how they fast the flow.
Over all I was very suprised at how easy they were to use. They have warn really well and I like the way the nail pen varnish sits flat on the surface rather than being a raised mound. These are really easy for beginners and I would definetly recommend them in the future.

What shall I do with my nails this week?

She's got style...

For this weeks she's got style, I have decided to look at Kate Hudson. Mainly due to her fab relaxed style. Her outfits seam to come together with ease and her palettes are kept very simple.

For a mum of two little ones she always looks great... yes I know she probably has loads of people around her helping her out with everything but I like her style...

Easy plaid shirts... fab maxi crocheted dress... it all looks so thrown together with ease

Chilling in white in the summer sun...  I have to say I am a bit of a fan of a white shirt and jeans, it just works so well for any occasion... I love love love her white dress on the left, definitely a holiday dress!

Easy outfit building with simple natural palettes... natural colours always look timeless and classic

Rocking the yummy look with style in the black...

This really isn't my kinda jacket but Kate seams to carry it off with style.

I love this white backless dress all I need now is a ball to go to... oh and a hot guy to go with...

Looking pretty in yellow, after the flim 'How to loose a guy in 10 days'... I  wanted a yellow dinner dress, Kate even looks great in the middle picture when heavily pregnant!

'How to loose a guy in 10 days'... this dress is dreamy.

Well the girl has style... either casual and laid back, little make up and relaxed stunning hair... or... dolled up to the max!

Porcelain days...

So while googling 'pretty blue shoes' the other day, I came across these beautiful blue court shoes! They are perfect for Spring and I love the way they look so fresh and clean. The flowers are beautiful and the porcelain palette of colours makes them dreamy... either teamed with a crisp white cotton dress or warn dirty denim.

But these shoes are the start of a loevly trend hitting the catwalks and highstreet this Spring... I'm calling it 'Porcelain Days'. It's fresh easy and full of a lovely range of inky blues, the illustrations and prints are intrcate but dreamy and the shapes are classic with fun twist on the past. Scale is important and it is key that this look isnt taken to seariously, mix this trend with colour blocking and warn denim to keep it up todate.

I love this look it is so easy to pull of and in time it will still look classic even after the trend has faded from the highstreet. I always think Blue is pretty on little girls and I can see this look being taken into little ones over the next few months.

It reminds me of hoildays traveling through the Netherlands with the Deltware china...

Spring is here to stay!

They've got style...

This week I decided to pick out two little pretty ladies to blog out. Sarah Jessica Parker's 3 year old twin girls... Marion and Tabitha.

They definitely have inherited their Mum's stylish ways with every outfit coordinated and often coordinating as a pair. Maybe its the fact that they are growing up on the west side of New York, maybe it is who there mum is. I bet they have boutiques and brands desperate for these little ladies to wear their brand...these to girls are bound to be ladies to watch in the future.

Generally I am not a fan of twins wearing matching out fits but these to little ladies do it so well with just the one item...like the fab coats below.

This is a really nice winter pallet that you often don't see on girls, but it is girly, pretty and almost warm with the creamy peaches and pink highlights. Sarah and the girls clearly love this look to rocking it out in three separate looks and seasons...When you know what look works stick to it... especially when this proves it works for all ages.

Just chilling out with Mum rocking the classic look.

These colours are adorable! I love the fact that they have such bright fun happy coloured coats that both clash and work so well together... Good choice Sarah Jessica Parker, you were not cast as Carrie for no reason. It's is nice to see celeb children in real play clothes rather than silly unpractical posh things.

How cosy do they all look in their knitted cardigans, grey is such a practical colour as it goes with everything and gives a softer look than navy or black.

Mum and her mini biker girls.

I love this picture! How cute is this?! Maybe its because I was a dolly girl, I even had dolly twins... (they were exactly the same dolly, except one was white and one was black... I got one one Christmas and one the next!) My mum even made me matching pjs to my dolly's, and I took them everywhere with me.
